Public Meeting Procedures

Responsibilities

The Office of the City Clerk is responsible for the compilation and posting of the City Council and authority meeting agendas, as well as the posting of all agendas for boards and committees.

As per the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act, a full calendar of regularly scheduled meetings is published by December 15th of each year, with the agenda for each regular meeting posted at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting, and at least 48 hours in advance of all special meetings. Meeting notices can be found on the city hall bulletin board located on the west entrance (200 South Main Street), or by visiting the agendas and meetings section of this website.

Addressing the City Council or Authorities

In order to comply with Oklahoma Open Meeting requirements, citizens wishing to address the City Council or Authorities must give notice to the Office of the City Clerk by the close of business Wednesday prior to the upcoming meeting. Such notice provides the City Clerk the opportunity to place an item on the appropriate agenda, thus giving the citizens proper notice of the item to be presented.

Citizens wishing to submit a request can email the details of their request to City Clerk, Julie Stevens; fax to the City Clerk's Office at 918-376-1599; or deliver to:

City Hall
200 South Main
Owasso, OK 74055

Requests must be received by the Wednesday prior to the upcoming city council meeting in order for an item to be placed on the agenda.
