Drug Uses
Albuterol is a sympathomimetic bronchodilator. It is used for treatment of breathing problems in people who have asthma or certain other breathing diseases. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
How Taken
Albuterol should be taken with or without a meal. Albuterol works for up to 8 hours or longer. Do not stop using this medication or change the directed dosage without your physician`s approval. Call your physician regarding the dose suitable for your situation.
Additional Information
Albuterol can cause dizziness or lightheadedness.
These effects may worsen if Albuterol is taken with
alcohol. Use Albuterol with caution. Don't drive or perform
other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how
you react to this drug. If your
symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, ask your doctor.
If your usual dose doesn`t work well,
your symptoms become worse, or you need to use it more often
than normal, call your doctor
at once. This may be a sign of seriously worsening
asthma. Your physician may need to change
your dose or medicine. Albuterol should be used only by the
patient for whom it has been advised. Don't take less or
more or take it more often than recommended by your doctor.
