Drug Uses
Furosemide is used for treatment of fluid build-up and swelling caused by congestive heart failure, liver cirrhosis, or kidney disease. It is also can be used in combination with other pills to cure fluid build-up in the lungs. Itmay also be used for other situations as suggested by your physician.
How Taken
Use Furosemide as advised by your physician. To avoid stomach upset take Furosemide with a meal. Furosemide may increase the amount of urine or cause you to urinate more often when you first start taking it. To keep this from disturbing your sleep, try to take your dose before 6 pm (18:00).
Additional Information
Furosemide can cause dizziness. These effects may worsen if Furosemide is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Take Furosemide with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly not safe tasks until you know how you respond to this product. If your symptoms don't improve or if they worsen, consult your physician. Furosemide should be used only by the patient for whom it has been suggested. Don't take less or more or take it more often than directed by your doctor.
