Public Meeting Procedures

The Office of the City Clerk is responsible for the compilation and posting of the City Council and Authority meeting agendas, as well as the posting of all agendas for Boards and Committees. As per the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act, a full calendar of regularly scheduled meetings is published by December 15th of each year, with the agenda for each Regular Meeting posted at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance of the meeting, and at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance of all Special Meetings. Meeting notices can be found on the City Hall bulletin board located inside the north entrance (111 North Main Street), or by visiting the Agendas & Meetings section of this website.

Addressing the City Council or Authorities

In order to comply with Oklahoma Open Meeting requriements, citizens wishing to address the City Council or Authorities must give notice to the Office of the City Clerk by the Wednesday prior to the upcoming meeting. Such notice provides the City Clerk the opportunity to place an item on the appropriate agenda, thus giving the Council or Trustees notice of the request.

Citizens wishing to submit a request can email the details of their request using the Request to Address the City Council form. Once completed, the form can be emailed to Sherry Bishop, City Clerk, or Julie Stevens, Deputy City Clerk; faxed to the City Clerk's Office at 918.376.1599; or delivered to City Hall at 111 North Main Street. Forms must be received by the Wednesday prior to the upcoming City Council meeting in order for an item to be placed on the agenda.
