Volunteering to assist the City can be rewarding for both the volunteer and the City department receiving assistance. Volunteers gain a sense of personal satisfaction and civic pride by helping with the mission of the City to provide services that sustain a high quality of life for residents and visitors to Owasso. The City’s volunteer program matches qualified individuals and groups to meet needs that may otherwise be unfulfilled due to limits in revenue.
By recognizing that we are all in this together, volunteers can make a significant difference by helping with tasks that enhance the beauty of the community, and tasks behind the scenes that are necessary to maintaining a high standard of service and appearance. Each need that is fulfilled adds value to the lives of those we serve.
Applicants must be 18 years of age, or have permission from a parent or guardian.
Owasso CARES -
Community And Residents Encourage Service
Mission: Owasso’s committed volunteers serve to improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods and community.
Owasso CARES is a program developed through the Strong Neighborhood Initiative. led by a committee of resident volunteers with the idea of bringing residents, volunteers and city staff together in a private-public partnership to make a positive impact in our neighborhoods and community.
Owasso CARES kickoff event was in September, 2010 and has grown into an biannual event with the next Owasso CARES Day scheduled for May 19, 2012. Contact Jerry Fowler if you are interested in participating in this volunteer opportunity.
